Programs and Services for Yukon SeniorsSeniors' Home and Yard Maintenance Program Funded by Yukon Housing Corporation and delivered in Whitehorse by the Yukon Council on Aging, this referral program matches seniors with basic home and yard maintenance needs with community residents registered to provide these services. The program is aimed at seniors who are living independently but have difficulty paying commercial rates for basic home and yard upkeep. People interested in providing services must pass a security-clearance check before they are placed on the official registry of approved service-providers. Payment arrangements between the senior and worker are privately negotiated. It is the responsibility of the parties to finalize the terms of payment before work begins. Services rates are generally in the $20 per hour range. Need more information on this program?
